WINTER 2008

Keiki Bulls is revamping its program to enhance the experience for your children by adding games and forming actual teams. The focus of player development in a completely fun environment is still the ultimate goal for the staff and league ultimately, but hopefully adding games will provide a more complete experience for the kids.

With the changes in format, the league has combined the Winter/Spring seasons into one extended Season. It could better be described as the Keiki Bulls Soccer League, but for simplicity we will maintain the "Winter" and "Spring" classifications to preserve continuity. The "Winter Season" is being compressed and delayed to better associate itself with the "Spring League". The biggest difference in the two "seasons" is that the Winter Season will only training sessions (two per week: Thur/Fri) and the Spring Season will offer one training per week (Thur/Fri) and one game per week (Sat mornings).

SCHEDULE

* First Winter Training: 02/21 4:30pm-6:00pm -- Hunakai Park

* Last Winter Training: 03/14 5:00pm-6:30pm -- Kapiolani Park

* First Spring Training: First Week of April (Thu or Fri)

* Frist Spring Game: April 5th (AM)

* Last Spring Game: May 24th (Memorial Day Wkd)

Winter training sessions will run Thursday and Friday for 4 weeks. Players should wear their RED Keiki Bulls shirt on Thursday and WHITE Keiki Bulls shirt on Friday. New t-shirts will be available the first few weeks of training during the winter. During the Spring Season, there will be one training per week and one game per week. Players will train according to age group/team and games will be scheduled according to age divisions. Age divisions will be split into U5, U6, U7/U8 and U9/U10. No standings or scores will be kept for record as this is a developmental/recreational league for the benefit of the kids soccer development. All games will be 4v4 with the older divisions possibly playing 5v5 or 6v6. The emphasis will be on fun and participation as our goal is to get as many players as possible as many touches as possible with the ball.

The cost for the Winter/Spring Seasons is $65 per player. There will be an additional uniform cost that will depend on the kit that is provided by the league. The kit will likely be no more than $40 per player depending on how much gear it includes (uniform, short, socks, etc). If you are a returning player from the Fall Season, then you don't need to sign up again online. Simply mail $65 payment to reserve your spot to the address on the left column of this page.

If you know someone that hasn't signed up yet, please refer them to this Keiki Bulls Website (www.keikibulls.com). As we finalize scheduling and other details about the Spring Season, we will be updating the "Spring" section of that website. Game location and schedule are for example something that we will be updating on that site.

PARENT COACHES NEEDED!!

With enhancement of adding games, we need your help! We're looking for parents that would be interested in serving as a coach for the teams that will be participating in the Spring League. These coaches will help offer basic skills training and things like managing substitutions during games, but primarily these coaches will help fulfill the role of helping each team in many coordinating capacities. These coaches serve a critical role as they are often the direct point of contact for all the parents and players. If you are interested in helping out but are concerned because you have a limited soccer background, don't worry, because we will be offering coaching education during the Winter Season for all interested Keiki Bulls Coaches.
